For our founder, Attorney Karnina "Nina" Deane, that belief is personal. After losing her mother at a young age without an estate plan in place, Nina experienced firsthand how the absence of proper planning can leave families facing difficult questions and uncertainty during an already challenging time.
That experience shaped her belief that families shouldn't have to wait until a crisis occurs to understand their options—or be expected to make important legal decisions without understanding what those decisions mean for themselves and the people they love.
That belief became the foundation of K. Deane Law.

Meet the Attorney
Meet Attorney Karnina “Nina” Deane
Attorney Nina brings more than a decade of legal experience, a strong business background, and a litigator’s perspective to helping families and business owners protect what they’ve built and plan for what comes next.
Before focusing her practice on estate planning, successions, and business planning, Nina spent approximately 7 years in insurance defense litigation. That experience gave her a unique perspective on what happens when legal documents, decisions, and protections are actually put to the test.
Today, that perspective shapes the way she approaches planning. Nina doesn’t simply consider how a plan looks on paper - she thinks about how it will work when it’s needed. She brings a planner’s perspective and a litigator’s eye to identifying potential issues, asking the right questions, and developing thoughtful strategies designed to provide clarity, protection, and confidence for the future.
